City of Zagreb and the Church team up in real estate developments
23 May 2008
Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic and Cardinal Josip Bozanic confirmed this week that an agreement has been reached between the Croatian capital’s government and the Church about a partnership in four development projects.
The parties have pledged to build 2,500 apartments, a kindergarten, a university college and a church museum. Zagreb has committed to continue co-funding the reconstruction of its Cathedral. For the residential developments, the Church will give up 24,000 square meters of its land, and Zagreb will provide the funding. Deadlines and investment values were not specified in the announcement.
