The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) expects 2-3 per cent more tourists and overnight stays with a 3-5 per cent increase in tourism revenues this year. According to the director of the HTZ’s, Niko Bulic, expectations for this season are close to 11.5 million tourist arrivals, or 3 per cent more than in 2007, and nearly 57.14 million overnight stays, or 2 per cent more.
The forecasts are based on the estimates from the presentations of the Croatian tourist offer at the major markets and are good for now, said minister of tourism and president of the Tourist Board Damir Bajs. Still, the exact booking figures will be known only after April, before the high season.
