New terminal at Zagreb Airport by 2011

Representatives of the Zagreb Airport have announced a forthcoming international tender for the design of a new passenger terminal at the already existing airport. A total of EUR 212 million have been allocated for the funding of the construction works.
The existing terminal has a maximum capacity of 2 million passengers, while the new one will boast a capacity of 5 million. Next to the new terminal a five-star hotel will also be built, towards which famous international hotel chains have already expressed interest. Last year the Zagreb Airport registered a record number of 2 million passengers.
