Rise in real estate prices on the Adriatic
06 June 2008
Real estate prices at the Zagreb market in May slightly fell compared with the previous month (-0.4 percent). The listed prices were down by 0.7 percent year-on-year, reports the web portal Centar nekretnina.
Average listed prices stagnated, so an apartment in Zagreb was sold at EUR 2,052 per square meter. The price was the same in April and in May 2007 it was EUR 2,051. Average listed price of a house in Zagreb and the surrounding area was EUR 1,187, which is by 2.1 percent higher compared with April. However, the average price fell by 4 percent y-o-y.
Real estate prices on the Adriatic rose by 1.1 percent compared with April, and by 10.9 percent compared with May 2007. Centar nekretnina director Domenico Devescovic says the real estate market on the coast has space for additional growth, considering Croatia’s soon accession to EU and NATO.
