Hotel of the future to be built near Zagreb

The Zagreb Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology is working on a new environmental and energy project called E-dom (E-Home), a small hotel close to Zagreb. The aim of the project is to show how new technologies can be used to become completely independent in terms of energy supply and environmentally sustainable with minimal investments to create healthy living spaces.
This hotel should be ideal for congress tourism in Zagreb and would bring people’s attention to the importance of energy and environment protection. It will also include a wellness centre, pools and other 5-star facilities and will contain 20 apartments on two floors.
The basic building materials will all be of natural origin, wood, straw, clay, sheep wool, and the like. It will also feature solar walls, which will lower energy consumption, while ceilings and parts of the front will be made out of thermo wood.
