First five-star hotel opens in Istria

The first five-star hotel in Istria, the leading province of the Croatian tourism, was opened today in the northern Adriatic town of Umago, Croatian media reported.
The Sol Coral hotel is part of the Istraturist hotel consortium, one of the major ones on the peninsula, which invested nearly 14 million euro in the new structure which has 244 rooms, six luxury suites, a conference room and a wellness centre.
Sol Coral is the seventh five-star hotel on the Croatian Adriatic coast and Minister of Tourism, Damir Bajs, who attended the opening ceremony, said that Croatia has "a growing need of luxury structures because it has become one of the favourite destination of tourists willing to spend more than the average".
