Growth of prices and living expenses in Zagreb

The retail prices in Zagreb in November rose by 1.8 percent compared to October, while the living expenses grew by 2.3 percent. Year-on-year, the retail prices were up by 4.9 percent, while the living expenses rose by 7 percent, reported the Statistics Department of the City Physical Planning Institute.
The biggest increase in November was recorded in food expenses, which grew by 12.2 percent. Accommodation expenses rose by 6.5 percent, and heating and lighting by 5.3 percent. Costs of transport and postal and telecommunications services were increased by 4.2 percent, while costs of home equipment, clothing and shoes rose by 3.8 percent.
According to the Statistics Department, in the first eleven months of 2007 retail prices rose by 2.9 percent and living expenses by 3.2 percent, compared to the same period in 2006.
