Real estate prices on the rise
15 February 2008
According to various sources the average price of apartments in January in Zagreb was EUR 2,150 per square meter. Downtown apartments are still the most expensive, with the average of EUR 2,400 per square meter. However, the prices on the outskirts are not much lower either - between 1,950 and 2,000. The reason is in the fact that demand still exceeds the supply.
The start of the year brought a slowdown to the Croatian real property market and experts expect the prices to stabilise as they have reached the upper limit that the market can sustain. According to the association of real agencies, Burza nekretnina, sales in January dropped by 41% compared to the same month last year.
