HRK 12 million for land registries in Zagreb and Sesvete

28 December 2007

Minister of Justice Ana Lovrin and Mayor of Zagreb Ivan Bandic signed the agreement on financing land registry departments in the Zagreb District Civil Court and District Court in Sesvete, worth HRK 12 million.

The land registry of Zagreb will get HRK 10.5 million and the registry in Sesvete 1.5 million, reported the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry says that this creates preconditions for a more intensive overtime work at these courts in the long term, in order to provide for a better tempo of closing the unresolved cases, especially in the Zagreb Land Registry, which had over 47,000 open cases on December 20.

Partly thanks to the city co-financing of the land registry, the number of open cases fell from was reduced by 62 percent since early 2003.
