Croatia’s tourism sector predicted to rise at 5% by the end of 2008

Tourism sector in Croatia continues to grow and is expected to reach record numbers at the end of next year. The forecast came from the Croatian National Tourism Board, which announced that 2007 is seen to end with some 11.2 million arrivals, 56.2 million overnight stays and a turnover from tourism of more than EUR 6.9 billion according to the estimates. The Board forecasts an even better scenario for 2008: according to the estimates there will be a 3% growth in arrivals and a 2% rise in the number of overnight stays. That trend is expected to lead to a 5% growth in turnover generated from tourism in 2008, which is seen reaching 7.27 billion euro.
