Visitors to Croatia up 3% in first 7 months
21 August 2008
Croatia registered a 3% rise in foreign tourist visits and 6% in overnight stays in the first seven months of 2008, "a little above expectations", Hina news agency quoted Tourism Minister Damir Bajs as saying today.
According to data by the Croatian tourism board, there were 6.13 million foreign tourists with almost 32 million nights. Speaking of revenue, Minister Bajs said that according to estimates the entire annual turnover of Croatian tourism is seen at EUR 7.3 billion, up 5% compared to 2007.
The rise is mostly due to the fact that this year the Croatian coast could offer more high-quality and luxury services compared to the past.
