British, Russians and Ukrainians buying real estate and property in Rogoznica region

11 August 2008

The Budget Implementation Report from January 1 to June 30, 2008 is the best proof that properties in the Rogoznica region are being sold, mostrly to British, Russians and Ukranians. The projected annual tax revenues from real estate trade amount to HRK 2 million, while the district’s treasury received HRK 3.5 million in the first six months, i.e. 75 per cent more than planned.

Considering information over further property sales as well as other bays towards which new roads are being built, the district authorities have concluded that the first budget revision would take place in September.

According to unofficial information, whole mountains are being bought up, olives groves are being sold as well as seemingly utterly unattractive properties that are far away from building zones and communities. In the beginning the price was at a mere EUR 5 per square meter, however, it went up recently and now amounts to around EUR 35 per square meter.
